In case anyone's unclear, this is all in good fun. Every creator I've featured here is someone I admire, and honestly, I'm a little jealous of those crazy miter stations! And while those may be out of reach for some of us, they were a great inspiration in the planning of this one. @AnaWhiteDIY 's FREE workbench plans: www.ana-white.com/woodworking-projects/easy-diy-garage-workshop-workbench @wo...

DIY Gone Wrong: Building a Saddle Stand with My Daughter (Part 1)
love your sense of humor
Thank you!
I'm a little late to the party here, but I really enjoyed this video! Hope your daughter has healed up okay by now.
Thank you!! She's doing great
this video speaks to me, like a breeze through autumn leaves, or the quick rapport of a cheap beer being opened. so good.
You speak my language
as a newcomer, please tell me every video has at least one problem solved by old garage door parts, please please please
Alas, only so many used garage door parts to go around...
"it's easier to build a workbench than to relearn woodworking" i just met you, but i love you. subscribed.
Thanks!
LOVE how you involve / include your daughters! (And, I’m a fan of Rex’s, too.)
Thank you!
that's it man...wood is unlimitted in USA and infinite in the rest of the planet... and we can get it on the Moon, Mars, Jupiter... wood never ends
I have identified an attempt at sarcasm.
I just found your channel and let me say, keep it up. I'm a fan of both Jason Hibbs and Brad Rodriguez but I do like the every guy approach you use. Like Emeril Lagasse always said, it's yours, make it the way you want. Keep posting and I'll keep watching
I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed it
She frequently copies other peoples ideas and designs, and so do a lot of other youtubers, you can count the ones producing original stuff out of hundrrds of channels on two hands..
Everyone does, me included.
Pedulla Studio cant compare with this!
It would be interesting to see what kind of Barbie furniture he'd build though, wouldn't it?
I saw a mitre station at floor hight that was more manly than this
You got me there. Was it made of dirt?
Only when you think you've seen it all
Typically when you see sparks in a wood shop…you know someone really messed up.
As long as those sparks don't precede flames, I'm ok with them
Timely video, as I messed up a small project I really wanted to finish...twice. was feeling quite down and I sympathise with your experience. That said, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who messes up in weird ways and has to strive to carry on
If it makes you feel better, I built my most recent project five times. It was a prototype thing, but still.
This shit is wack. He specifically does most of his shit with hand tools. Tell me you only watched one video without telling me. Praise and criticism are great tools, but not if you don’t know what you’re talking about. Great workshop name btw.
Well, I considered just punching the keyboard to find a name like you apparently did, but I figured "Worst Workshop" would be more memorable. Thanks for watching!
One of the nicest timber-tickler videos I've watched. And I've watched a lot! Well done you & keep up the great work. BTW I'm steeling your apron idea! Just genius! :)
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
It’s awfully sweet of your girls to help out. I know my 5 yr old would try really hard to help too cause she just loves being with people.
Sounds like you've got a great kid!
I used my router for the dog holes. Worked surprisingly well.... It also had a cord.
Router is a good way to go. They kinda make me nervous, but that's probably appropriate.
First time seeing your channel. Great work! I love the bend. Your daughters are adorable and the look of satisfaction of your daughter when you got the top on the bench and she jumped up, priceless. I hope to build those kind of memories with my son when he's a little older. Love the expandable top idea, very nice all around!
Thanks a lot! It always means more coming from another maker.
Your daughters are adorable! There is a special relationship between girls and dads! We could change the nation within one generation if people just realized the power of awesome girls.
Thanks! I think the relationship girls have with their dads shape more than we realize!
Liked & subscribed for the PURE GRIT!!! & the cameos!!!
Thank you!
I love the videos that don't have music, they are very popular too.
Thanks for letting me know!
Lol i did not know the interviewer was Rex. I knew the voice was familiar but i thought it was you doing a different voice lol
It was really cool of him to do that. He's a real hero.
@@worstworkshop yeah Rex is awesome I've been woodworking my whole life thanks to my dad and grandfather but I was never into hand tools until I started watching him. He's taught me so much and does so much for so many people
very touching scene of you working with your daughters. I built a little boat with my son when he was 7 or 8. The boat was nothing special, we only took it out once, but the memory of doing it with him is something I am sure that we'll both remember for the rest of our live. He's 24 now and I hope some day he'll build something with his kids.
The things I've built with my kids are my favorite builds ever. They're not special to everyone, but they sure are too us. Thanks for sharing that story!
Man I'm picking up some real Joe Dirt Dad vibes here.
Man...I need to watch that movie again. It was funny.
Love the bench! You have some great memories and quality time spent with your daughters, I definitely think they will tell that story someday! I like the way you explain things and enjoyed this video very much so I subscribed! Looking forward to more!
Thanks a lot!
Those mortices through the double 2x4 legs could have been dadoed in before assembly. Ripping wider 2x’s to get better quality 2x4’s than run of the mill is a great idea. 3 decades ago we ripped 24 foot 2x10’s to get pairs of 2x4’s to glue and screw into pump jack posts.
I thought about doing that through mortise trick, but decided against it specifically so I could show the girls traditional mortise and tenon joints on a project that was hard to mess up. Otherwise, it would have been a better way to go.
how about if your in a wheelchair how high only have one leg
Is that your situation, Roger? I'd love to hear more about your woodworking if it is.
10 to 15 years from now your eyebrows will be gray and it will match the color of your beard.
I'm not sure if that will be better or worse, but certainly inevitable!
"Moravian stool".. sounds like a type of horse poop
I think we all question ourselves as to whether or not we are good parents. For you there is no question. You are an awesome father. Well done sir.
Thanks. We all question it though. Especially as they're becoming teenagers. It can be scary. I think effort counts though!
I appreciate the authenticity of this. Thanks for showing a real view of your shop and not some doctored up view to keep up with the other youtubers. Look forward to seeing how you progress to build up the shop and turn out some projects.
I appreciate that!
Good to see the shout out for cabled drills. If you need even more - go for a 16" hand brace - NO hand held power drill can touch the torque an average guy can develop with a large throw brace: and it's powered by coffee and cookies - what could be better? (Yes - I did the maths once - the torque is truly insane - just be careful not to twist off your bolt heads)
It's on my wish list!
You want to make this WHAT expandable?! 🧐 Oh...BENCH! I totally did not hear the word "bench"!
Haha!!
Great dad jokes and good editing. Cool ideas for a very functional workbench.
Thanks!
Why didn’t you use that fancy standing desk to lift the slab to the planer? Using the first one as a sled was such a good idea.
Ah! Because that happened before I got a sponsor. It was a good idea in theory, but I couldn't get the planer to raise up high enough for it all to fit through at the same time.
@@worstworkshop I see, I thought it was just too heavy. I hadn’t really ever considered one of those desks for an adjustable outfeed table.
Its all good. Your channel, your rules. At 78 I'm out of ideas. I'm passing the torch.
YOU and REX👍
He's Miyagi. Not sure who I am.
Thanks! You're a funny guy
Hey!! Thank you sooooo much!!
I don't think i was going to like a random video that shows up in the middle of my tech videos, i'm not a woodworker anymore due to my horrible vision at 55, did just get a cornea transplant that still has 16 stitches in my eye, mixed about that right now. But you're easy to listen too, and with a couple girls of my own, much older, if you can get them at that age to help you must be doing something right, so i like this video. I have several work benches i have built. Good work.
I really appreciate the time you spent watching it and commenting. All the best!
Your daughters are so cute, what a lucky Dad!
They're pretty great. Thanks!
The only pocket holes I use are in my jeans. Oops! Love the videos. I found my plywood lifter 2 years after I bought it while cleaning the shop. Little girls are great because you always know where to find them. Your two are adorable.
Thanks a lot!
My first view. You're a natural. Your girls are also naturals. They wouldn't be in the shop if you guys didn't love each other.New subscriber.
Thank you so much.
You're a great storyteller! Whether it's woodworking or anything else in life, I am convinced that we only learn from mistakes. I'm always happy if it's just one lesson per project.
Well said!
I'm poor too! After your channel bombs, can I borrow your camera equiptment so I can give it a go? You can just run it to me in Lake Worth ;) ... Keep it up. Huge fan
I can't tell if you're trolling with sarcasm or just trying to be funny, but either way, thanks for your comment!
@@worstworkshop The latter. My attempt at humor. Genuine fan & wish genuine success. Apologies that was so unclear.
7:29 you filmed this before you got the sponsor?
Bingo!
Yep. Someday she's gonna be able to take care of her families needs with or without a man.
She's becoming a very competent young woman. Thank you!
Great to see you posting again!!❤
Thanks!
Your helpers are the best.
They're pretty great, huh?
